The Top 5 Not to be Missed Features at the Show

The Downtown Raleigh Home Show is jam packed with three days full of home improvement activities - so how do you properly plan a visit to the show? Here are the top give, not-to-be-missed features at the show.

1. Rustic Rehab
Raleigh is home to many diverse, emerging and up-and-coming neighborhoods with older houses that need a little TLC from eager Triangle homeowners. Chenoa and David Rivera are the stars of Rustic Rehab,  a new HGTV series that follows the couple as they remodel and restore homes in their hometown of Paradise, California. The couple shares a passion for transforming neglected houses into beautiful homes, and will share that passion (and their best tips and tricks for rehabbing them) at the Raleigh Home Show.  Chenoa and David appear on Friday, September 14 at 4 p.m. and Saturday, September 15 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

2. Live Your Best Life Though Good Home Design
Do you ever wonder what the effect of your home’s design and decor has on your emotional health? Turns out, how we interact with our environment plays a definite role in our lives. Special guest speaker Katharine Kaye McMillan guides people on designing their lives and interiors using design thinking and emotion redesign principles to empower, beautify, and promote personal style and branding.  She’s the author/co-author of over 13 books on decorating and partner at Strahan + McMillan Architecture & Interior Design, including three books in the “ For Dummies®” series. Katharine appears on Friday, September 14 at 6 p.m., Saturday, September 15 at Noon and 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 16 at 1 p.m.

3. Celebrating Local Heroes
The Raleigh Home Show celebrates local heroes on Friday, September 14  with Hero Day at the show – all active and retired military personnel, EMTs, firefighters, police, medical personal and teachers get complimentary admission with valid ID (offer only with ID, and only on Friday).

4. Designer Rooms Curated by The Design Haus
Make your home your own; turn any room from drab to fab with inspiration from three Designer Rooms curated by The Design Haus.  Guests can tour a living room, bedroom and dining room that represent the top home and design magazines come to life - get an up close and personal look at the latest interior trends, colors, fabrics, patterns and more. The designer showrooms are located at the end of aisle 100.

5. Love Your Landscape
Triangle residents are lucky that for most of the year, outdoor space can be used as additional, secondary living space. Guests can get ideas, inspiration (and deals) on everything for outdoor living from landscaping to outdoor kitchens to firepits and more at the fall show. Luxury Living Scapes has created an outdoor oasis located on the 1200 aisle of the show, and RB Landscaping is showcasing a deck,outdoor kitchen, fireplace, patio, water feature, tons of plants, pergola, and more. Their outdoor dream space is located on aisle 100 of the show.
